just a few randomly amusing quotes from my journalism professors before bed...
"i don't know if you guys have it, but i'd venture to say that in this city, at least 90% of the people have... (dramatic pause)... ADD."
-my sports p.r. instructor, on why los angeles can't support an nfl team
"i say you use whatever means you can... i don't care if you shoot a deer with a rifle, a bb gun, your spit..."
-my p.r. writing professor's homework instructions
moral of this story: i enjoy my major.

if you say this isn't the cutest halloween picture you've ever seen, you're a lying heartless bastard:
...
WORLD CHAMPION ANGELS.
whether or not you're one of the seven people who was an angels fan before this month, you have to admit it's extremely exciting to see the underdogs of the mlb - not just the laughingstocks of baseball, but the laughingstocks of their own southern california, for the love of god - take home the world series. what a great, great day.
random notes on tonight:
*what kind of a pud is michael eisner? he wears a mickey mouse t-shirt under his coat to game 7? look, man, everyone knows what major corporation you're the money-grubbing ceo of. why the hell didn't he top it off with a mickey ear hat as well?
*also, what is with him sharing his box with john travolta? that hug at the end made me feel a little uncomfortable...
*how funny was it when that girl hit the giants outfielder in the back with her thunderstick? how much funnier was it when she got ejected from the game?
*darren baker is the saddest kid in baseball. first he almost loses his life as he runs out to homeplate during game 4, then is sobbing harder than barry bonds after the loss tonight. that really was heartbreaking. sadder still for him is the fact that my friend ben said they were making fun of him the other night on espn, saying his grandma gave him a whooping for running out onto the field like that. just wait a few years until that kid is in elementary school - the bullies are never going to let him live that down. the world series has been the most traumatizing week of his life.
on one more random note, we were watching the game last night when the angels were down 5-0 and spiezio was up to bat. one of my friends made a comment that it was over, and i actually said, "no, spiezio's gonna hit a homerun here." moments later he goes on to hit the homerun that turned this series around. i think eisner & co. owe me a big fat THANK YOU.
