when i type things like "until tomorrow" i generally mean "until i remember that i have forgotten to blog".
i should be studying michelangelo. big final on monday. must know the name, date, dimensions, provenance, medium, sources, etc. for about forty works. why did that guys have to do so much? i've seen the sistine chapel, shouldn't that be enough?
more random u.k. goodness:
*had my birthday dinner at tgifriday in london. very american. almost like i turned 21 in america except like i had no friends. but it was really fun. they brought me balloons and sang a song and gave me ice cream. the waitress even offered to check my ID, even though the drinking age in england is 13 or something. and we got fun fruity alcoholic drinks (although it was a little embarassing because dom [predictabley] ordered the most girly/gay [sorry, it was!] drink on the menu.) i love you, dom.
*went to the british museum. again, saw mummies. again, pretended they were coming to life and that brendan frasier was killing them and saving my life and that of our adorable british son. understandably, the boys refused to accompany me on this trip.
*the boys took me to a cool bookstore in edinburgh called "foop" or "floop" or something where they sell books for right cheap prices. like a fool, i bought two - the unbearable lightness of being (which i have been wanting to read for many moons) and some shallowly entertaining romance (hey, don't scoff - cosmo recommended it. it said so right on the cover!) i am a fool because i am never going to be able to get all of these books home. with the ones that i (over)packed, the three my mom sent me, the ones my friends sent me (they are wonderful books... but do you guys all think my brian is atrophying over here or something?), the two i bought myself in florence, and the one my roommate gave me for my birthday (peter pan in italian - man was i a happy happy girl), i have no room for any clothes. i am just going to layer on every piece of clothing that i own in order to get them all home. it will be like joey in that episode of friends. come on, you know that you know what i'm talking about...
and on that note, i study some more.

i (heart) the united kingdom.
this past week has probably been the most funnest of my whole semester abroad. i mean, italy has been pretty fun, but it's been spread out over many weeks. also it was interspersed with all the obligatory growing experiences and cultural appreciations and all that crap. nope, this past week was just some hardcore compact fun.
i don't even know where to begin. some random goodness:
*walked through hyde park and kensington much in the manner of author hero james barrie. got to see much-dreamed of peter pan statue (as seen in both "hook" and "mary kate and ashley take london".) knocked over small british children in order to get close to said statue and imagine myself as wendy moira angela darling.
*for my birthday saw the musical spectacular "the full monty". the bad (as if such a thing is really possible with musical theatre): the play was redone from the film to be done in america. what this means: instead of sexy scottish accents we got bogus buffalo ones. ah, well, that was made up by... the good: one of the actors was off on his timing, and though i was not supposed to, i actually saw the full monty. happy birthday to me.
*ate black pudding. (for those of you that don't know what that is, substitute "black pudding" with "sausage boiled in its own blood" and you can see why that made this list.)
*saw grand master flash in a hip hop club in edinburgh. really. was in old skool ecstasy during the "hey, ho, hey, ho" number.
computer lab is closing, so until tomorrow...
