this has to be super short but i am in edinburgh, scotland today. i got to celebrate my 21st birthday both in florence in london, in the same day.
i love my life.
dom says i have five minutes so i will keep typing.
i have to say that it is very weird to be back to being the only girl in a group of boys. i had gotten used to that being a common situation at usc with these guys, but have gotten out of the habit of it in these past few months in florence, where we outnumber the boys 5:1. when i travel it is almost exclusively with just girls, so we get very estrogeny. a quote from our random male american neighbor in our hotel in sicily: 'you girls make me feel like i am living in a sorority house' (after we spent an evening getting ready to go out, the six of us running from room to room in towels trying to borrow hair dryers, stockings, makeup, etc. also, we tend to have pillow fights in our panties in the halls, so that is very sorority house-like, too.)
anyway, sharing a hostel room with my two guy friends in london took some getting used to - all the crude jokes and dirtyness and what not. for example, wanna know what part of my birthday gift was from my friend mike? a fart embargo. that's right, his present to me was that he would stop farting all the time in our small shared sleeping space. i'll never know how i managed to grow up normally as the only girl with two brothers.

with all of this traveling it is hard to find time to blog. that is okay though, it will just give me that much more to tell you all in person when i return home in SIXTEEN DAYS, accomanied by photos, slides, props, etc.
highlights of sicily:
* rained the entire first day. good excuse for a four hour nap. no one heard me complaining.
* second and third day were sunny and beachy. layed out on beautiful sicilian sands.
* went exploring and climbing on rocks in the ocean. my roommate stepped on a sea urchin and got spikes in her foot. was forced to leave her behind.
there is lots more but my memory is fading because i am so old (happy birthday eve to me!).
mike and dom arrived and i am very cheered up, despite the fact that i lost my voice and it is raining in florence.
tomorrow depart for the uk with lindy's trusty guide to london in hand. yay!
